To thrive as a Remote VoIP specialist, you need a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, VoIP protocols (such as SIP and RTP), and experience with configuring and managing VoIP systems. Familiarity with tools like Asterisk, Cisco Unified Communications, or 3CX, and certifications such as CCNA Voice or CompTIA Network+ are often preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are key soft skills.
