We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.
We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

In this role, you will act as the primary bridge between Intersect's technical and operational teams and Google's in-house insurance department.
You will help design and implement a systematic insurance framework for our asset portfolio and act as the key internal coordinator, ensuring that all insurance-related data, documentation, and requirements flow seamlessly between Intersect and Google. You will work closely with technical teams, manage the insurance budget, and guide leadership on critical strategic insurance decisions.
Team Overview
This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by ensuring strong risk management practices across a growing portfolio of projects. The role partners cross-functionally to drive decision-making and build scalable processes that enable continued growth.
What You'll Do
Drive Insurance Strategy and Risk Ownership
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive insurance framework in collaboration with Google's in-house insurance team
  • Evaluate risk tolerance and guide leadership on key insurance decisions and coverage strategies
  • Define and standardize processes to support scalable insurance operations

Lead Cross-Functional Insurance Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Intersect teams and Google's insurance group

  • Ensure alignment across internal and external stakeholders

Support Insurance Placement and Compliance
  • Gather and synthesize technical data to support insurance placement processes
  • Review contracts and provide standardized insurance language
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements across projects

Manage Policies, Documentation, and Certificates

  • Evaluate cost versus coverage value

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance coordination, risk management, or cross-functional roles
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, or asset-heavy industries
  • Strong understanding of risk profiles across energy technologies and related insurance products
