The Revenue Cycle Consulting Manager will work within the Revenue Cycle Solution Design (RCSD) team to support prospective client engagements, revenue cycle assessments, due diligence activities, and strategic growth initiatives. This role serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert throughout the sales process, helping healthcare organizations evaluate opportunities for revenue cycle transformation while representing Optum during executive-level client engagements.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role requiring deep revenue cycle expertise, strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare executives. The individual will partner with cross-functional teams to identify operational improvements, develop financial models, create executive presentations, and support multi-million-dollar revenue cycle outsourcing and managed services pursuits.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead revenue cycle assessments, due diligence engagements, and operational evaluations for prospective healthcare clients
  • Manage project timelines, workstreams, deliverables, and client interactions throughout the sales and diligence process
  • Conduct operational interviews and analyze client data to identify improvement opportunities across revenue cycle functions
  • Develop executive-level presentations, recommendations, financial analyses, and sales deliverables
  • Partner with operations, finance, compliance, human capital, product, and delivery teams to refine solution strategies
  • Present findings and recommendations to client executives, including VP and C-Suite audiences
  • Support business development efforts by representing Optum's revenue cycle capabilities during client pursuits
  • Develop ROI analyses, cost-benefit assessments, and financial models that support strategic recommendations
  • Create process maps, workflow diagrams, and operational documentation to illustrate future-state solutions
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external healthcare executives
  • Contribute to methodology development, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within the Revenue Cycle Solution Design organization

Required Qualifications:
  • Revenue Cycle Expertise
    • 5+ years of revenue cycle experience supporting hospital-based revenue cycle operations and/or a healthcare consulting organization.
    • 5+ years of experience in acute care and/or ambulatory revenue cycle operations
    • Experience in one or more of the following functional areas:
      • Business Office
      • Patient Access
      • Health Information Management (HIM)
      • Revenue Integrity
      • Coding
      • Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)
  • Client-Facing Consulting & Business Development Experience
    • 5+ years of business development, account management, consulting, client relationship management, or related experience
    • Experience working directly with healthcare executives, including VP and C-Suite leaders
    • Experience supporting sales pursuits, due diligence assessments, contract discussions, executive presentations, or strategic client engagements
  • Executive Communication
    • Experience presenting recommendations, assessments, and business solutions to executive audiences
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex operational and financial concepts to senior leadership
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen
    • Experience developing ROI analyses, cost-benefit models, and financial assessments
    • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
