Position Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist - Building Automation & Controls
Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States
JOB SUMMARY
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a full-cycle recruiter responsible for screening, engaging, and hiring technical talent across Smart Tech Contracting's building automation, controls, and mission-critical data center organization. Experience recruiting for roles involving PLC, SCADA, networking, or smart building platforms is strongly preferred.
This role is central to Smart Tech's direct-hiring strategy: screening high volumes of inbound applicants quickly and accurately, executing AI and automation protocols developed with the Talent Acquisition Manager, and supporting proactive pipelines that bring qualified candidates directly into our hiring process. The ideal candidate is comfortable using modern tools to source efficiently and streamline recruiting workflows, and thrives in a fastpaced, collaborative environment.

  • Move candidates through requisition stages accurately and quickly, ensuring complete records and accurate source-of-hire tracking

  • Lead intake discussions to translate business and technical needs into clear sourcing and recruiting strategies before launching searches
  • Conduct screening conversations to assess candidate experience, technical alignment, geographic flexibility, compensation expectations, and overall fit
  • Drive a consistent, high-quality candidate experience through proactive, timely communication from first contact through offer acceptance
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain momentum across hiring managers, technical teams, and candidates

Outbound Sourcing & Pipeline Development (20%)
  • Execute targeted outbound sourcing across LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, and direct outreach for assigned hard-to-fill roles
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines and shared LinkedIn Recruiter projects to support current and future hiring needs
  • Convert interested and passive candidates into applicants within the applicant tracking system, strengthening the directly-sourced pipeline

Tools, Reporting & Continuous Improvement (10%)
  • Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data in Rippling, and help build dashboards and reporting that increase the speed and quality of hire
  • Track pipeline health, time-to-fill, and source-of-hire, and contribute to process improvements across the talent function
