Job description

Rich Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a traveling superintendent with a varied and broad skilled set to join our new and fast-growing company. The ideal candidate is based in the greater Phoenix area (this is not required) and be willing to travel for construction projects throughout the country. A candidate who can outline prior experience working on high-end retail tenant improvement projects and/ or restaurant buildouts will get great consideration. 

The ideal superintendent will bring to the table the experience, skills and knowledge required to manage, in collaboration with the project manager, the successful completion of assigned construction project. The Superintendent is the primary person responsible for job site safety, quality control, project schedule, and is the onsite liaison with the architect and consultants on all field and constructability issues.

This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and diplomatic. They will serve as Rich Contracting’s Ambassador to the client. Furthermore, it is our hope that this person is interested in growing professionally over time as the business grows.

Construction Superintendent Job Duties:

  • Superintendent shall supervise and schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily. The supervision shall ensure adequate manpower is available for each task being performed.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communication with project team regarding Project Drawings, RFI’s, Shop Drawings, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensure that each subcontractor is fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and any specialty required inspectors.
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities on the jobsite.
  • Ensure each subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Assist with budgeting, bidding, and awarding of subcontractors as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of submittals, shop drawings, and construction drawings on-site to ensure a proper install is achieved.
  • Must have the ability to travel for projects.
