Job description

Transmission Operations Manager / Transmission Superintendent

Location: Remote with Travel (Midwest & Southeast U.S.) Site locations: GA,FL & KY

Contract Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Transmission Operations Manager / Transmission Superintendent to support and grow transmission construction operations across the Midwest and Southeast regions. This role combines operational leadership, business development, client management, recruiting, and financial oversight to drive project success and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transmission line construction, utility infrastructure, and workforce management, with the ability to develop client relationships while overseeing project execution and profitability.

  • Travel Requirements: Travel approximately 2 weeks per month. Remaining 2 weeks can be worked remotely. Primary project focus in: Kentucky, Georgia, Florida. Additional Midwest and Southeast markets as needed


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations & Project Leadership: Oversee transmission construction operations across multiple projects and regions. Provide leadership and support to field superintendents, foremen, and project teams. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.


  • Business Development & Client Management: Identify and develop new client relationships within the utility and transmission markets. Expand existing customer accounts and uncover new project opportunities. Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout project execution. Participate in proposal development, project planning, and strategic growth initiatives.


  • Recruiting & Workforce Management: Recruit and build high-performing transmission construction teams. Support hiring efforts for superintendents, foremen, linemen, operators, and other project personnel. Coordinate workforce planning to meet project demands. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified field resources. Financial Management: Manage project financial performance and profitability. Review and analyze P&L statements. Monitor labor utilization, project costs, and revenue performance. Support forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning efforts.


  • Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in transmission construction, utility infrastructure, or power delivery operations. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, or similar leadership role. Strong understanding of transmission line construction and utility project execution. Experience managing client relationships and business development activities. Proven recruiting and workforce management experience. Ability to interpret and manage project financials and P&L statements. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time. Compensation: Competitive hourly or contract rate based on experience. Initial contract term of 3 months with strong likelihood of extension.
