The Team You’ll Join  

You will join Envestnet’s dynamic RIA Sales team, a high-performing group focused on driving growth and deepening relationships across the advisory market. This team partners closely with Product, Investment Solutions, and Client Experience to deliver a comprehensive wealth management ecosystem to RIAs. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and market expertise, the team works together to expand adoption of Envestnet and Tamarac solutions, support advisor success, and identify new opportunities to bring innovative financial services—including managed accounts, analytics, and financial wellness solutions—to clients. This is a fast-paced, client-facing environment that values strategic thinking, relationship building, and a results-driven mindset.

How You’ll Contribute  

Envestnet is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Business Development Director – RIA to join our RIA team. The Business Development Director is the lead role responsible for expanding the adoption of Envestnet services and solutions to RIA clients. This role will develop and execute a territory sales strategy promoting the use of Envestnet’s broad wealth management ecosystem for advisors, including managed account administration technology, investment solutions, and business analytics

  • Lead sales of managed accounts (SMA/UMA/Strategists) and other Envestnet solutions (tax overlay, direct indexing strategies, etc.) to current Tamarac and Envestnet RIA client.
  • Act as a lead generalist (supported by SMEs) to identify and shepherd sales opportunities, spanning managed account trading technologies, performance reporting, investment solutions, overlay services, credit, and insurance exchange platform.
  • Identify, recruit, and sign new $100MM+ RIA firms on to ENV/TAM, then drive managed account adoption with these firms
  • Grow, develop, and retain RIA managed account assets in your territory Promote and expand footprint of ENV Financial Wellness Solutions (Alternatives/Credit/Insurance/etc.) with RIAs
  • Manage daily job requirements in Salesforce, Calendly, Seismic, etc.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

What You’ll Need to Bring  

  • 10+ years of financial services experiences, preferably in advisory platform/asset management sales BA/BS in finance, business administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Deep understanding of the advisory business model, Trading and Reporting technology and financial planning process.
  • Generalist understanding of investment solutions, and wealth management services such as index replication, overlay, credit and insurance products.
  • Developed and successfully executed product and go-to-market strategies within the financial services industry 10+ years’ experience of working with financial advisors, managing a region and achieving sales quotas
  • Strong business acumen and exceptional leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with clients, colleagues, cross-functional teams as well as third parties
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%
  • Agile; able to identify and apply appropriate “win-win” solutions even in new situations

Nice-to-Haves  

  • CFP/CFA designation is a plus
  • Envestnet platform or comparable experience with a fintech platform provider

Our Investment in You 

This role offers a base salary range of $94,000 to $125,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.  This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
