AirVantage connectivity service innovations include unified global high-resiliency cellular and satellite connectivity with eSIM and non-terrestrial failover, so deployments stay connected in places terrestrial networks never reach.

Job Summary

As a Solutions Manager, your primary responsibility is field technical pre-sales engineering for Semtech's AirVantage Connectivity Services and Cloud Management, including proposal development, technical qualification, architecture guidance, and implementation assistance for large and strategic customers, partners, and resellers.

Responsibilities

Solutions Manager Objectives:

  • Pre-sales technical engagement to drive revenue generation goals consistent with quota. Revenue generated through Large Direct Customers, Solutions Providers, Distributors, or Systems Integrators.

  • Provide Sierra Wireless technical training to partners specific to our MVNO IoT connectivity and cloud management offerings.

  • Proposal development and establishment of Statements of Work for specific large projects.

  • Coordination with sales team around all technical account activities to ensure alignment.

  • Raise technical awareness of Sierra Wireless products within specified geography and cross-train internally and externally on AirVantage products and services.

  • Accountable for the overall customer technical onboarding process

Specific Tasks:

  • Support Sierra Wireless Sales teams in a technical pre-sales engineering capacity.

  • Drive customer confidence by taking the role of the "Total Solution Technical Expert". Assist with technical qualification and understanding of customer business models and ROI.

  • Proactively assist customers through trial & development phases to ensure successful implementation, conversion, and adoption.

  • Development of Statements of Work for technical deliverables that deliver the technical elements in customer proposals. Work with internal engineering, product management, service delivery, and project management resources.

  • Conduct SWIR technology demonstrations to prospects, customers, partners, and internal personnel.

  • Based on customer input, provide internal Product Management with specific and well-analyzed feedback related to new product features and roadmap requests & requirements.

Qualifications

  • Desired candidate to have a minimum 4-year degree in the field of engineering and/or Information Technology

    • Possible consideration to be given for candidates with a 2-year technical degree and ample relevant experience

  • 5+ years of Sales Engineering / Solutions Architect experience in one or more of these industry verticals: Cellular Telecommunications Networks, MVNO, Wireless, cloud-hosted Platform-as-a Service, and embedded computing

  • Solid understanding of basic cellular network architectures, including: 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, NTN, LPWA (M1/NBIoT), eUICC, APN/VPN, & IP Networking

  • Understanding of MNO/MVNO market and M2M/IoT ecosystem

  • Basic understanding of web services APIs as used in IT system architectures, and in particular the use RESTful APIs implemented in JSON over HTTP

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - including public speaking

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adhere to established deadlines and perform under pressure

  • Willingness and abilityto travel requires 20 to 30% within the Central, Mountain, and Western US
