The Data Center Security Manager is responsible for leading physical security operations across multiple data center facilities within a defined region. This role ensures the protection of critical infrastructure, personnel, and assets by overseeing security programs, managing vendors, and directing incident response efforts.
Acting as the regional authority for physical security, the Manager ensures consistent implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures across all sites. This role requires close collaboration with GSOC, Data Center Operations, Facilities, Security Technology, and Compliance teams to maintain a secure, resilient, and audit-ready environment.
The position demands strong leadership, operational oversight, and the ability to manage risk across diverse locations while supporting business continuity and security excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Regional Security Operations: Oversee multi-site physical security operations including access control, visitor management, guard services, perimeter protection, CCTV support, and incident response; ensure consistent coverage and procedures.
  • Incident Management: Lead response and investigation of incidents (unauthorized access, breaches, theft, vandalism, safety concerns); coordinate on-site actions, support GSOC escalations, and produce reports and after-action reviews.
  • Vendor & Guard Force Management: Manage security vendors and guard services; oversee performance, staffing, training, post order compliance, and service quality; conduct site visits and reviews.
  • Security Program Implementation: Enforce corporate security policies across sites including badge/access control, visitor processes, patrols, and reporting standards; support rollout of new initiatives.
  • Security Technology Coordination: Partner with technology teams to maintain and improve access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and perimeter systems; support troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • GSOC Coordination: Collaborate with GSOC on alarm monitoring and response; validate alarms, guide local response, and ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Risk Assessments & Reviews: Conduct site security assessments (perimeter, access control, guard posts, camera coverage); identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Data Center Ops, Facilities, IT, Corporate Security, and Compliance teams to integrate security into operations and projects.
  • Compliance & Auditing: Support audits and ensure adherence to security standards; maintain access logs, visitor records, incident documentation, and policy compliance.
  • Training & Awareness: Provide training and guidance to guards, staff, contractors, and vendors on security procedures, incident response, and access control requirements.
