Summary
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at Martin Army Community Hospital located at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Duties
Help
  • Confirm adherence to physical security requirements within a medical treatment facility (MTF).
  • Provide guidance to management officials on physical security programs best suited for the MTF.
  • Resolve issues that involve law enforcement and physical security requirements to the MTF.
  • Plan and assign work to subordinates including establishment of priorities and project timelines.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) and Bio-Surety programs for a MTF.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in antiterrorism and physical security such as: responding to program changes and resolving major conflicts within a MTF.
  • Provide guidance on security matters related to foreign personnel and/or visitors at the MTF.
  • Provide administrative and regulatory guidance on findings and recommendations related to intelligence.
  • Communicate with local community's leadership and counterparts on matters where force protection and security concerns exist that will impact the MTF.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) overseeing and conducting physical security surveys and inspections; (2) advising management on improvements to security/protective methods and procedures; (3) assisting with the Antiterrorism (AT)/Force Protection (FP) Programs; (4) monitoring security measures in response to threats; and (5) coordinating plans, procedures, and changes in Force Protection Condition (FPCON) levels within the organization, appropriate local, State, and federal agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
