Job description


A family-owned plaintiff personal injury firm with a collaborative team environment and strong internal support resources is seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal to join their Lakewood, NJ team. This role will support a local attorney on a mostly pre-litigation caseload with some litigation exposure, offering flexibility after initial training and strong long-term earning potential.

What You'll Do as the Personal Injury Paralegal:

  • Manage a personal injury caseload in partnership with the assigned attorney
  • Support cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and other plaintiff PI matters
  • Track deadlines, case progress, medical records, PIP issues, and documentation needs
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and internal team members
  • Prepare and organize case materials for attorney review, demand packages, and litigation needs
  • Help keep cases moving efficiently from intake through resolution

Must-Haves as the Personal Injury Paralegal:

  • 3-5 years of personal injury paralegal experience
  • New Jersey personal injury experience
  • Working knowledge of NJ and PA PIP laws
  • Experience obtaining, reviewing, and organizing medical records
  • Familiarity with medical billing and insurance documentation
  • Ability to manage deadlines and case flow with limited hand-holding
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients

Nice-to-Haves as the Personal Injury Paralegal:

  • Plaintiff-side personal injury experience
  • Litigation exposure
  • Defense-side personal injury experience with transferable skills
  • Experience supporting a high-volume or fast-paced PI practice
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting after training
