Director of Business Development - Senior Living Genuine Foods Remote (with travel)
Genuine Foods is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Business Development - Senior Living to lead sales expansion across senior living communities nationwide. This role is key to developing meaningful partnerships with senior care providers, including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities.
The Director will develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in this emerging vertical, targeting both public and private institutional clients. Applicants must have prior experience selling contract foodservice management to senior living or healthcare institutions.
This is a remote position with significant travel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Design and implement territory-level business plans that achieve sales, market share, and revenue goals.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a pipeline of high-value prospects through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and market research.
  • Client Engagement: Lead client discovery meetings, tastings, and site visits to demonstrate Genuine Foods' capabilities and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Proposal Development: Analyze RFPs/RFIs and develop tailored proposals and pricing strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Culinary, and Marketing to ensure proposals and contract terms align with client expectations and organizational goals.
  • Sales Enablement & Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline data in the CRM; share insights and updates with leadership.
  • Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to refine approach and offerings.
  • Leadership Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategy, identify market opportunities, and support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Contribute to ongoing improvements in sales methodology, tools, training, and reporting processes.

  • Minimum 5 years of consultative sales experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience selling contract foodservice solutions to senior living or healthcare institutions.
  • Proven success closing multimillion-dollar contracts with complex stakeholder involvement.
  • Deep understanding of the senior living market, resident experience expectations, and operational constraints.
  • Experience navigating public and private sector procurement processes.
  • Strong ability to present, negotiate, and close with executive decision-makers.
