How much do ecosystem marketing jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 17, 2026, the average hourly pay for ecosystem marketing in the United States is $32.69, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $21.63 and $43.27 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How does an Ecosystem Marketing professional typically collaborate with external partners and internal teams?

Ecosystem Marketing professionals frequently work cross-functionally, engaging with both internal teams—such as product, sales, and customer success—and external partners like technology vendors, channel partners, or industry influencers. They coordinate co-marketing initiatives, align messaging, and develop joint value propositions to amplify reach and impact. Effective communication and project management skills are essential, as you’ll often juggle multiple stakeholders and timelines to ensure campaigns run smoothly and deliver measurable results.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Ecosystem Marketing professional, and why are they important?

To excel in Ecosystem Marketing, you need a strong understanding of partner ecosystems, strategic marketing, and business development, often supported by a degree in marketing or business. Familiarity with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and partner management systems is typically expected. Outstanding relationship-building, cross-functional communication, and analytical thinking are crucial soft skills for this role. These abilities drive successful collaboration across organizations, maximize co-marketing opportunities, and ensure measurable business growth within complex partner networks.

What is ecosystem marketing?

Ecosystem marketing is a strategy that focuses on building and nurturing a network of partners, products, and services that work together to create added value for customers and businesses. Instead of promoting a single product or service, ecosystem marketing aims to strengthen relationships and integrations between multiple stakeholders—such as technology partners, developers, customers, and resellers—to drive mutual growth. This approach often involves co-marketing, joint solutions, and shared platforms, helping organizations expand their reach and enhance customer experiences.

What is the difference between Ecosystem Marketing vs Partner Marketing?

AspectEcosystem MarketingPartner Marketing
CredentialsMarketing experience, knowledge of ecosystemsMarketing, sales, or partner management experience
Work EnvironmentCollaborative with product, sales, and partner teamsClose collaboration with partners and sales teams
Industry UsageTech, SaaS, and platform companiesTech, SaaS, and channel-driven industries

While both roles involve collaboration with external entities, Ecosystem Marketing focuses on building and promoting a company's entire ecosystem, including partners, developers, and platforms. Partner Marketing specifically centers on co-marketing initiatives with individual partners to drive mutual growth. Understanding these distinctions helps clarify career paths and organizational strategies in tech and SaaS industries.

Job description

Overview
At Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft, we are on a mission to build a better world through the power of play.
Why play? Well, play is at the heart of everything we do. It's the blocky backbone of our games, the core of our development philosophy, and even the origin of our name. From the relentless experimentation of our endlessly inspiring community to the classrooms where Minecraft has become an essential teaching tool, play is the bedrock of our existence.
We enable millions to create and play together, connect people across the globe, and foster a community that is among the most active and passionate in the world. Our community is global and incredibly diverse. When we are developing anything within our franchise, we keep this in mind. We want everyone to not only feel included in Minecraft, but also to see themselves in what we make. Our goal is for the Mojang Studios team to be as diverse as our community.
Minecraft is seeking a Director, Platform Growth & Ecosystem Marketing to lead growth across the franchise's most important external platforms, growth ecosystems, and distribution channels. This leader will be responsible for expanding Minecraft's reach, engagement, and commercial impact through platform partnerships, gaming retail and digital storefronts, Minecraft Education, China, and strategic ecosystem partnerships.
The role serves as the bridge between franchise strategy and execution, translating business priorities into scalable growth initiatives across Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Apple, Google, Minecraft Education, and the China ecosystem. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team of platform marketers, ecosystem marketers, and program managers responsible for strategic planning, partner marketing, storefront growth, and operational excellence.
Success in this role requires a balance of strategic leadership, business acumen, partnership development, and execution rigor. The leader will work closely with Product Marketing, Global Brand Management, Franchise Development, Business Strategy, Digital Marketing, Retail Sales, and external partners to identify new growth opportunities, scale existing businesses, and build durable growth systems that drive long-term franchise impact.
In the end, it's the people of Mojang Studios that make this place truly special. When you join, you'll find yourself in the company of incredibly bright, warm, and creative individuals - all united and working toward a single goal. Come help us reach it!
