To thrive as a Remote Events Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning or project management, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with virtual event platforms (such as Zoom, Hopin, or Microsoft Teams), registration software, and digital collaboration tools is typically required. AspectRemote Events
Role FocusPlanning, organizing, and executing virtual events
Required SkillsEvent management, communication, technical proficiency
Work EnvironmentRemote, often from home or co-working spaces
Common CertificationsEvent planning certifications, project management

Remote Events refers to the broader category of virtual event planning and execution, while Remote Event Coordinators are professionals who manage specific aspects of these events. The coordinator role typically requires hands-on management skills, communication, and technical knowledge. Both roles are primarily remote, serve the event industry, and often share similar certifications. The main difference lies in scope: Remote Events is a category, whereas Remote Event Coordinators are individual professionals responsible for executing event plans.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote events coordination, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in remote events coordination often face challenges such as maintaining clear communication across time zones, ensuring attendee engagement in a virtual format, and troubleshooting technical issues quickly. To manage these challenges, it’s important to use reliable communication and collaboration tools, prepare detailed contingency plans, and actively engage participants through interactive elements like polls or breakout rooms. Regular check-ins with team members and thorough rehearsals before live events can also help minimize disruptions and create a smoother experience for everyone involved.

What are remote events?

Remote events are gatherings, meetings, or activities that take place virtually rather than in a physical location. These events use online platforms and tools to connect participants from different geographical areas, allowing them to interact, collaborate, and engage from the comfort of their own spaces. Examples of remote events include webinars, virtual conferences, online workshops, and digital networking sessions. They offer flexibility and accessibility, making it easier for people to attend and participate without the need for travel.

Job description

About Us
1 in 25 adolescents and young adults will be diagnosed with serious mental illness. The majority of these families struggle to get care. Flourish (**https://flourish.health/**) is here to ensure that everybody gets the same access to great care.
About the Position
The Manager, Events & Culture designs and delivers meaningful employee experiences that strengthen connection, support professional growth, and reinforce Flourish Health's values. This role plans and executes company-wide and team-specific offsites, celebrations, and ongoing culture & event programming that aligns with organizational mission and priorities.
You are a great fit for this role if you are empathetic, strategic, and operate with a high bar for inclusivity and psychological safety. You thrive in the logistics of programming, from finding the perfect hotel to curating meaningful teambuilding activities. You move seamlessly between remote and in-person events, and you see the value in both. You are mission-driven and invested in supporting teams doing meaningful, challenging work in the mental health space.
What You'll Do:
  • Plan and Execute Company Offsites
    • Plan and execute company-wide and team-specific offsites from concept through onsite logistics and post-event feedback.
    • Create run-of-show materials, coordinate vendors, and ensure inclusive participation for in-person and remote attendees.
    • Manage hotel accommodations, outings, menu coordination as well as on-site logistics in partnership with the Director of People Operations
    • Curate every event, with relevant stakeholder feedback, to grow the culture of Flourish's teams and to create meaningful avenues for connection and team development.
    • Manage travel budgets and processes, fielding inquiries or specific travel requests in alignment with Flourish guidelines.
    • Manage each event budget with excellence and hold teams accountable for budget related to travel, purchases, etc.
  • Develop & Run Celebrations
    • Own and evolve celebrations such as work anniversaries, key milestones, and peer recognition opportunities.
    • Build lightweight, repeatable processes that scale as the company grows, including budget and departmental partnerships.
  • Deliver Synchronous & Asynchronous Programming
    • Build a year-round calendar of training, development, and wellness events in partnership with the Director of People Ops and in support of the clinical programming team.
    • Create a mix of live sessions (workshops, panels, etc.) and asynchronous experiences (self-paced modules, guided challenges, team chat discussion prompts).
    • Coordinate presenters, materials, comms, and post-event resources.
    • Be ready to jump in and lead trainings or teambuilding activities as needed.
    • Pilot new ways to build connection both synchronously and asynchronously.
    • Ensure programs are accessible across time zones and work patterns.
  • Measure and Improve Engagement
    • Run pulse surveys and collect feedback after offsites, key programs, and at regular intervals related to the employee experience.
    • Monitor attendance and engagement trends across events and experiences.
    • Conduct needs assessments across teams to identify pain points and opportunity for growth or increased connection
    • Synthesize insights and recommend improvements, testing new approaches to increase participation and impact.
  • Support Communications with a Diverse, Inclusive Team
    • Partner with key leaders and the Director of People Ops to craft clear, timely, and consistent internal messaging for cultural moments, events, and programs.
    • Act as a thought partner across diverse teams to build the company culture and to honor a wide range of employee backgrounds, cultures, and values.
  • Other Duties
    • While the primary focus of this role is events and culture building, there will be times when this role provides additional support to the People Operations department as needed and assigned
    • Be willing to jump in to support the People Ops department during company audits, periods of team absences, or with administrative duties and projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  • Professional with 8+ years of relevant experience in training, HR, events management or a culture building role
    • 2+ years experience managing event logistics, including hotel and vendor management
    • 2+ years in a role with significant culture building impact
  • Must be 18 years or older
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical environments, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with learning and development program design and instructional content creation.
