Job description

Event Marketing Manager
About the Role
We're looking for a strategic, highly organized Events Manager to lead the planning, execution, and measurement of our global events program. This role goes far beyond logistics. It is responsible for developing event strategies that drive business outcomes, delivering integrated campaigns from concept through post-event analysis, and partnering across the organization to maximize impact.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional project management skills with strong marketing acumen, understands how events fit into an integrated GTM strategy, and is passionate about creating memorable experiences that generate measurable results.
What You'll Do
Event Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive event strategy aligned with company and GTM objectives.
  • Evaluate and prioritize event investments based on business impact, target audience, and ROI.
  • Build annual and quarterly event plans that support pipeline generation, customer engagement, brand awareness, and strategic partnerships.
  • Continuously identify new event opportunities and innovative ways to engage target audiences.
End-to-End Campaign Management
  • Own the complete event lifecycle: from strategy, planning, budgeting, and execution through post-event analysis.
  • Build integrated marketing campaigns around each event in partnership with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Content, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • Define campaign objectives, messaging, target audiences, promotional plans, and success metrics.
  • Ensure every event has a clear pre-event, onsite, and post-event engagement strategy.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Serve as the central program manager across Marketing, Sales, Product, Executive Leadership, Operations, Finance, Legal, and external vendors.
  • Align stakeholders on goals, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships while ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.
  • Enable internal teams with event plans, briefing materials, messaging, and follow-up processes.
Event Execution & Experience
  • Deliver exceptional onsite experiences that reflect the company's brand and create meaningful customer engagement.
  • Oversee logistics including venue selection, booth design, sponsorship execution, executive speaking opportunities, customer meetings, hospitality, and event operations.
  • Anticipate risks, solve problems proactively, and ensure flawless execution under pressure.
Measurement & Optimization
  • Define KPIs and success metrics for every event.
  • Analyze pipeline contribution, influenced revenue, attendee engagement, meetings, customer outcomes, and overall ROI.
  • Present clear post-event readouts with insights, recommendations, and optimization opportunities.
  • Use data to continuously improve event strategy, campaign performance, and budget allocation.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of experience managing B2B marketing events, field marketing, or integrated marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop event strategy, not just execute logistics.
  • Experience managing end-to-end integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing international events.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Customer Success, Executive Leadership, and Operations.
  • Analytical mindset with experience measuring marketing performance, pipeline impact, and ROI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Success in This Role
You'll be successful if you:
  • Think like a marketer, not just an event planner.
  • Connect every event to measurable business outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships across teams to deliver integrated event experience.
  • Balance strategic thinking with flawless execution.
  • Continuously optimize programs using data and customer insights.
  • Create exceptional experiences that strengthen our brand and accelerate growth.

Backblaze Perks:
  • Healthcare for family, including dental and vision
  • Competitive compensation and 401K
  • RSU grants for full-time employees
  • ESPP program
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Maternity & paternity leave
  • MacBook Pro to use for work plus a generous stipend to personalize your workstation
  • Childcare bonus (human children only)
  • Fertility treatment and support
  • Learning & development program
  • Commuter benefits
  • Culture that supports a healthy work-life balance
