What is Remote Epic Go Live Support?

Remote Epic Go Live Support refers to providing virtual assistance to healthcare organizations during the rollout of Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems. Professionals in this role help clinical and administrative staff navigate the new software, troubleshoot issues, and answer questions in real-time, all from a remote location. This type of support ensures a smoother transition during the critical go-live phase, minimizing disruptions to patient care and daily operations. Remote support is often delivered via phone, chat, or video conferencing, and can be more cost-effective and flexible compared to on-site support.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Epic Go Live Support professionals during a project launch?

Remote Epic Go Live Support professionals often encounter challenges such as quickly adapting to different healthcare organizations’ workflows, troubleshooting unexpected technical issues in real-time, and ensuring clear communication with onsite staff. Since support is provided remotely, building trust and rapport with end-users can require extra effort, and efficiently resolving issues without physical presence demands strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, professionals must be prepared to manage high volumes of support requests during peak go-live periods, which can be fast-paced and require excellent time management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Epic Go Live Support specialist, and why are they important?

Success as a Remote Epic Go Live Support specialist requires in-depth knowledge of Epic EHR systems, experience in healthcare IT, and often certification such as Epic Credentialed Trainer or Epic Certified Analyst. Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and strong technical troubleshooting skills are essential. Outstanding communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help guide end users and resolve issues efficiently from a distance.
