The Contractor Account Manager leads and supports the sales team to drive revenue growth and profitability within the territory by developing strong relationships with contractors and pulling products through distribution. The incumbent must be a team player, working closely with Specification Managers and Distribution Managers in the territory to maximize sales opportunities and drive market penetration. They are directly responsible for accelerating sales growth within their designated sales area and through the performance development of Area Sales/Account Managers, ensuring a results-driven approach. Success in this role depends on fostering collaboration, aligning sales strategies, and maintaining clear communication across teams. Additionally, the incumbent will play a crucial role in analyzing and reporting market conditions and key customer performance, ensuring informed decision-making and strategic adjustments to optimize growth. This is a job based in California, but it is still a remote role.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Establishes strong distributor, contractor, home builder, irrigation designer, landscape architect relationships and identifies new channel partners throughout assigned sales region, building plans to ensure success with these partners
  • Responsible for the strategic annual sales and marketing plans, results, and reporting of sales.
  • Regularly reviews and provides interpretation of goals, objectives, and standards for operations to resolve problems and makes recommendations regarding policies, pathways, and procedures
  • Monitors and evaluates operations, programs, processes and practices for quality and effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Acts as an expert in the functions, benefits, and application and methods of selling Hydro-Rain and associated brand products
  • Maintains a regular budget report for the region.
  • Significantly drives demand for Hydro-Rain/Bond/B-hyve and Husqvarna products achieving annual sales and profitability targets
  • Analyzes the market in relation to market share, current opportunities and key accounts and implements a strategic plan to reach sales targets and increase market share
  • Attends and manages Husqvarna Water activity at distributor open houses, trade show events
  • Develops and participates in contractor events, distributor events and industry tradeshows
  • Assists marketing in the identification and development of new and existing product needs
  • Reports results regularly to the National Sales Manager with additional special reports including annual sales plan, sales activity and results, forecasting, budget preparation and review.
  • Has responsibility for key distributor account management and the Contractor Advantage Program within the sales region

  • Ability to manage others in a way that improves their performance showing sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to find, gather, and collect information or data, evaluate information against a set of standards
  • Understanding of principles, theories, and practices of sales and marketing
  • Ability to observe, measure, and evaluate outcomes against goals and objectives and direct the development and implementation of solutions and organizational changes, negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate and understand information and ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to facilitate or lead meetings, presentations, trainings, teams, or work groups to encourage participation, build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among participants using acceptable methods and techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. in a recurring manner, and for extended periods of time

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in external sales in the Green Industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing the work of others
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Preference given to individuals fluent in Spanish
  • Moderate travel is required

The anticipated salary wage range for candidates who will work in California is $115,000.00 to $135,000.00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Husqvarna is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states."
