Job description

Wand makes gaming magical. Through game customization and guidance, we build tools that helps players have more fun in their favorite games.

Our platform works across thousands of PC games, ensuring that great games are accessible to everyone, regardless of time constraints, skill level, or accessibility needs. We want to build the future of game assistance, and we're hoping you'll join us.

At Wand, we're building a companion layer that transforms how players experience their favorite PC games. We unify maps, guides, gameplay customizations, and highlights into one seamless in-game experience.

Help millions of gamers discover a better way to play.

Over 40 million players across 4,000+ titles already use Wand to play games that feel more fun, more accessible, and more personal. We're just getting started.

Now we're looking for someone to help tell that story.

About the Role

We're looking for a Creative Strategist who lives at the intersection of gaming culture, paid advertising, and creative production.

This isn't a role where you'll write briefs and wait for someone else to bring ideas to life.

You'll spot opportunities before anyone else does. You'll turn gamer insights into creative concepts. You'll write the hook, shape the story, direct the execution, launch the test, analyze the results, and decide what gets made next.

You'll be the person responsible for answering one of the most important questions in growth:

What creative should we make next, and why?

If you've ever watched a gaming ad and immediately thought "I know exactly how I'd make this better", you'll probably enjoy this role.

What You'll Own
Build Wand's Creative Engine
  • Own the ideas that shape how millions of players discover and experience Wand.

  • Be the driving force behind our paid creative strategy across Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms.

  • Define the stories we tell, the emotions we tap into, and the angles we test.

  • Build and evolve the creative systems that help us consistently produce winning ads.

  • Turn creative production into a repeatable growth engine rather than a series of one-off campaigns.

Shape How Gamers See Wand
  • Develop the positioning, messaging, and creative angles that make players feel understood rather than marketed to.

  • Find the moments, frustrations, goals, and inside jokes that resonate with real gamers.

  • Translate gameplay experiences into concepts that stop thumbs and drive action.

  • Help define Wand's voice as we continue scaling globally.

Build a Culture of Experimentation
  • Champion bold ideas and test them quickly.

  • Create frameworks for turning creative learnings into future wins.

  • Continuously uncover new opportunities, patterns, and insights from performance data.

  • Push beyond templates and recycled formats to create original work that feels native to gaming culture.

Lead Creative Production
  • Direct freelancers, editors, designers, creators, and agency partners.

  • Build sharp briefs that inspire great work.

  • Give clear, actionable feedback that improves output without slowing teams down.

  • Ensure every creative shipped reflects both player understanding and performance intent.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You're the kind of person who:

  • Understands gaming culture because you participate in it.

  • Has opinions on why certain gaming ads work and others don't.

  • Can switch effortlessly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

  • Enjoys turning performance data into creative ideas.

  • Doesn't need a detailed brief to get started.

  • Gets excited by finding a winning concept and figuring out how to scale it.

  • Is naturally curious about player behavior and motivation.

What We Need You to Bring
  • 4โ€“6 years in creative strategy, performance marketing, copywriting, creative direction, or a related role.

  • Experience creating performance-focused paid social creative.

  • Strong understanding of Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and platform-native creative formats.

  • Experience turning insights and data into creative decisions.

  • Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or creative partners.

  • A portfolio demonstrating concept development, messaging, and creative thinkingโ€”not just execution.

  • Ability to explain both the idea behind a creative and the outcome it drove.

Bonus Points For
  • Gaming industry experience.

  • Entertainment, media, or consumer app experience.

  • Deep familiarity with gaming communities, creators, and internet culture.

  • Experience in high-growth startups.

  • Understanding of accessibility in gaming.

Tools You'll Work With

Linear, Figma, Claude, ElevenLabs, Loom, Slack, Frame.io, and whatever else helps us build better creative.

What You'll Get
  • Real ownership from day one.

  • Freedom to experiment and influence strategy.

  • A direct impact on how millions of gamers discover Wand.

  • The opportunity to help build a creative function from the ground up.

  • A team that cares deeply about games and player experience.

  • Competitive compensation.

  • Fully remote work.

Join us in creating the ultimate PC gaming companion.

Wand is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of background.
