Position Overview

Our client in the Grand Rapids area is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Remote Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to support ongoing accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting functions. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the ability to work primarily from home, making it an excellent fit for professionals seeking work-life balance, including stay-at-home parents or individuals.

We are only accepting candidates that have experience with QuickBooks, Quicken, Excel spreadsheets, and brokerage statement reconciliations. This individual must be highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Record investment transactions through downloads and manual data entry using Quicken
  • Reconcile brokerage statements and investment accounts accurately and timely
  • Perform bank account reconciliations utilizing QuickBooks Online
  • Export accounting and financial data from QuickBooks and Quicken into Excel spreadsheets
  • Generate customized financial reports and supporting schedules in Excel
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger activity
  • Assist with month-end accounting and reconciliation processes
  • Ensure proper documentation and organization of financial records
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and investment information
  • Support additional bookkeeping and accounting functions as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting support experience required
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Quicken is required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including exporting, organizing, and analyzing financial data
  • Experience working with brokerage statements and investment account reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
  • Excellent data entry and 10-key skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a remote setting
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
