Description

We are very excited about our growth opportunities and are seeking highly motivated individuals with a commitment to client service to join our team!


Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining general ledgers for clients.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with tax planning and compliance activities, identifying potential tax savings opportunities and ensuring adherence to tax filing deadlines.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Provide exceptional client service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Tax knowledge in the following areas a plus but not required:

  • Assist with the preparation and review of individual tax returns (Form 1040) for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, ensuring timely completion.
  • Handle tax notices and correspondences from tax authorities, addressing inquiries, providing documentation, and resolving issues on behalf of clients, including collaborating with clients to gather necessary information and documentation for tax filings
  • Conduct research on tax-related matters, staying up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and current advice to clients.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping.
  • General understanding of Payroll and Local Taxes, including but not limited to: Withholdings & Tax Filings, Sales Tax Reporting, and 1099 reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Experiencing using Xero and tax preparation software like Lacerte, ProSeries a plus.
  • Experience with EFTPS, Ohio Business Gateway, Ohio E-Services and/or other online bookkeeping and tax portals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in handling confidential client information.
