Job description

Position Overview:


WEBERMESSICKis seekinga Tax Accountant to prepare tax returns for various types of entities and provide proactive year-round tax planning strategies for both business and individual clients. The ideal candidate will show interest in following changes to tax regulations and laws, can analyze and complete work papers, and have an overall understanding of the tax return preparation process.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Prepare various federal and state income tax returns, including forms 1040 (schedules C & E), 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 990
  • Prepare other tax filings, such as personal property tax returns, annual reports, state composite returns, and payroll tax returns
  • Perform year-end review of books and recommend necessary adjustments
  • Prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments
  • Detail preparation and review of work papers, financial statements, source documents, and tax returns
  • Assist in tax audits and notices
  • Maintain understanding and compliance with tax regulations and laws
  • Learn and adhere to firm policies and standard operating procedures
