Description
We're looking for an experienced Law Firm Bookkeeper to support TonaLaw's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of all financial transactions. This role works closely with firm management and staff to manage deposits, payments, expenses, and receivables while maintaining strong internal controls.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $75,000+ depending on experience

Responsibilities
• Manage daily cash flow, monitor firm bank accounts, process payments and disbursements accurately and timely
• Oversee monthly bank, credit card, and IOLA/trust account reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions
• Assist with financial reporting and prepare internal reports and cash flow projections
• Manage law firm billing operations, including generating and issuing client invoices, maintaining matter-based transactions, overseeing billing activity, and managing outstanding balances
• Manage No-Fault accounting and bookkeeping functions, track carrier reimbursements, billing activity, and collections reconciliation
• Process internal payroll and support tax filings
• Assist with workers' compensation and insurance audits as needed
Qualifications
• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a law firm
• Personal injury and no-fault collections experience strongly preferred
• QuickBooks Online, expense, billing, and case management software experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or Certified Bookkeeper preferred
• Strong understanding of IOLA trust account rules and reconciliation requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
