Position Summary

The Professional Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the company by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely financial reporting, and strong internal controls. This role works closely with company leadership to support sound financial decisions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the general ledger and financial records.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and assist with month-end closing.

  • Ensure monthly Profit & Loss statements are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records (if applicable).

  • Prepare sales tax filings and other required reports.

  • Assist with budgeting and financial analysis.

  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.

  • Support annual audits and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal team members.

  • Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience.

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
