Job description

MEISON is a collection of high-end and luxury women’s apparel brands including Jones New York, Misook, Ming Wang, and Kasper. We focus on elevated, timeless workwear and fashions that are easy to mix-and-match and designed to help build an effortless and reusable wardrobe. Our brands are found online, through specialty boutiques, and in stores with our various retail partners such as Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Dillard’s. 

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations for our entities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies, and supporting key accounting operations to ensure overall business compliance and health. You will report to the Senior Accountant. 

Salary: $40,000 - $44,000

Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Financial Tracking: Perform core bookkeeping duties 
  • Statement Verification & Bills: Verify credit card statements and vendor bills for accuracy 
  • Vendor Communication: Coordinate directly with vendors to address and resolve billing discrepancies, inquiries, and outstanding issues 
  • Disbursements & Expenses: Process check requests and complete employee expense reports efficiently 
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare clear and accurate monthly financial statements for presentation to company owners.
  • Tax Preparation Support: Coordinate seamlessly with our CPA to prepare documentation for tax filings.
  • Accounts Payable: Support the overall accounts payable (A/P) processes for core companies.
  • Accounts Receivable: Support the overall accounts receivable (A/R) processes for core companies 
  • Administrative Record Keeping: Maintain systemic organization of financial files and data tracking.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is highly preferred (recent graduates are encouraged to apply) 
  • 0-2 years of Accounting or Bookkeeping experience preferred; prior internship experience is a strong plus 
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and financial principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks or NetSuite is a plus
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with external vendors and internal teams
