Summary
The Release Scanner (1st Shift) position will be responsible for performing release scanner duties as assigned, by walking from vehicle to vehicle scanning vehicle bar codes, verifying VIN numbers, port installed options, and throw-ins. Once proper verification and vehicle handling procedures have been met, this position will release the vehicles for shipment.
Responsibilities
  • Use PDA to scan, verify, and release vehicles for shipment
  • Use portable scanners to update location of vehicles after they have been processed
  • Scan vehicles to verify Monroney sticker against the VIN plate
  • Inspect vehicles to check for installs, and confirm they are present and closed out
  • Ensure all units are staged correctly and are dealer-ready prior to release for shipment
  • Use portable scanners to release each vehicle for shipment in the appropriate locations
Secondary
  • Meet production needs in a high paced environment
  • Walk long periods of time in various weather conditions in order to meet/exceed daily goals for released vehicles
  • Have a good understanding of daily tasks, and perform them in a safe and efficient manner with minimal errors
  • Notify supervisor if assigned area needs assistance
  • Ensure proper vehicle handling procedures
  • Check all vehicles prior to releasing or updating locations, to ensure the vehicles are properly parked according to GLOVIS vehicle handling guidelines
  • Ensure vehicles are free of any damage
  • Document any issues found and/or corrected with vehicles in load lines
  • Other duties as assigned
