Primary Purpose

Under the direction of the Manager, this role supports Release Management activities by coordinating releases, projects, system changes, and implementation efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders. The contractor helps ensure that release processes are effectively planned, communicated, tracked, and executed to support organizational objectives, customer expectations, and operational readiness. This role partners with internal and external teams to manage dependencies, schedules, testing activities, and release deliverables across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Release Planning & Coordination
    • Support the Release Manager in coordinating releases, multiple projects, and system changes.
    • Coordinate multiple project deliverables and products to ensure they function together as an integrated release solution.
    • Support the release lifecycle for complex, multidisciplinary, large-scale, and cross-departmental releases.
    • Coordinate implementation activities for releases, projects, and enhancements.
    • Coordinate releases and activities in alignment with organizational goals, customer expectations, and operational requirements.
  • Project Tracking & Dependency Management
    • Track key milestones and target dates to help ensure releases remain on schedule.
    • Monitor release and project deliverables, target dates, and completion status for internal and external delivery and support teams.
    • Partner with delivery teams to identify, manage, and track interdependencies between projects and system changes.
    • Support the development and maintenance of release plans, processes, and procedures that improve delivery effectiveness and implementation success.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Readiness
    • Coordinate communications to provide visibility into delivery processes, release plans, project progress, dependencies, and readiness status.
    • Support regular stakeholder communications through established release readiness meetings.
    • Track and communicate milestone achievement, risks, issues, and readiness indicators to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Testing & Implementation Support
    • Coordinate scheduling and testing activities in shared test environments to ensure required release functionality is deployed and validated.
    • Support implementation readiness activities and verify completion of pre-deployment and post-deployment requirements.
    • Facilitate coordination between release, testing, and support teams to ensure successful deployments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Coordinate with internal and external development teams, customers, business units, and support organizations to support the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
    • Foster collaboration across multiple teams to ensure alignment on release schedules, dependencies, and implementation activities.
  • Corporate Responsibilities
    • Adhere to organizational values, policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance release management processes, communication, and delivery outcomes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The function itself is not new, but the client is expanding release management beyond the PMO to support all technology groups. The goal is to create more consistency, governance, and maturity across release processes throughout the organization. This person will be assisting with that effort and less on true coordination tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $57.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
