Job Description:
The Records Office is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Student Transfer Credit Clerk to assist with articulating transfer credits for admitted students, including military, AP, IB, and CLEP credits. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date records of transfer courses to La Sierra University, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of student evaluations, and performing duties as assigned. The position requires availability during all breaks, graduation weekend, and summer. Proficiency in Microsoft 365/Teams is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Complete articulation of transfer credits for students that have been admitted and have transfer credits posted as official by the Admissions Office.
    • Articulate military credit
    • Articulate AP and IB credits for new freshman
    • Articulate CLEP testing
  • Serves as the secondary support to the data manager for La Sierra University on the ASSIST database, the official course transfer and articulation system for California colleges and universities.
    • Maintains the ASSIST database in collaboration with the Asst. Registrar for Articulation from the 2026-27 year forward.
    • Keep a current/updated record of classes transferring to La Sierra University
    • Organize and maintain confidentiality of student evaluation records
    • Scan and archive evaluation documents electronically into Etrieve
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Skills:
  • Must be able to show accuracy and detail-oriented nature when conducting tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently, with limited supervision in some cases, including some work from home.
  • Responsibility and reliability are of the utmost importance in this role.
  • Computer proficiency is important.
  • Banner experience is a plus but is not required.
  • Must adhere to FERPA regulations and always maintain confidentiality of student records. (FERPA training will be required)
  • Previous office experience preferred.
Position Requirements:
Current La Sierra University student at Sophomore class standing or above.
    • Individuals who are not registered will not be considered for this position.
  • Ability to work during breaks, summer, and graduation weekend is required.
  • Minimum dedication of 20 hours per week; 25 hours per week preferred.
  • Minimum 2-year commitment preferred.
