We are looking for a full time Medical Records Director.
  • Assist in establishing and executing procedures to be followed in the collection, coding and indexing, and the filing/retrieving of medical records.
  • Must be knowledgeable on federal and state laws regarding medical records.
  • Review and audit admissions, discharges, change of condition, and other pertinent records on nursing units.
  • Review department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
  • Ensure that incomplete records/charts are returned to nursing service for correction.
  • Abstract information from records as authorized/requested for insurance companies and other third-party payers.
  • Ensure that registries are properly maintained for admission and discharge of residents.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that medical records can be properly maintained and problem areas can be identified and corrected.

  • Medical records certification.
  • 1 year experience in the Medical Records Department within a Skilled Nursing Facility.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.
