DEFINITION:
The MOA/AMA Teacher provides career technical instruction preparing adult learners for entry-level employment in medical office and administrative healthcare support roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach front and back office medical administrative procedures, including patient scheduling, medical records management, insurance billing, and coding basics.
Provide instruction in medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and professional office communication.
Incorporate hands-on training using industry-standard practice management and electronic health record (EHR) software.
Prepare students to successfully earn NCCT certification by passing the NCCT exam.
Partner with local healthcare employers to develop internship and job placement opportunities.
Facilitate CASAS assessments to monitor and document student progress.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Specialized knowledge of medical office administration and healthcare support functions.
Familiarity with EHR systems, medical billing/coding, and HIPAA regulations.
Strong organizational and technical skills.
Ability to create an engaging and practical learning environment.
