Chrysalis Psychiatry is a growing outpatient mental health practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, andmaintainingrecords and accounts.
- Welcomespatients and visitors in person or on the telephone.
- Optimizespatients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment roomutilizationby scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keepspatient appointments on schedule by notifying provider ofpatient'sarrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Comforts patients byanticipatingpatients' anxieties, answering patients' questions, andmaintainingthe reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information,recordingand collecting patientcharges, andfiling, collecting, andexpeditingthird-party claims.
- Helps patientsindistress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients' rights bymaintainingconfidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Perform related duties as assigned bysupervisor.
- Maintain compliance with allcompanypolicies andprocedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 2years experienceas a Medical Receptionist, supervisory experiencea plus.
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system for patient registration, documentation, billing, and scheduling.
- General understanding of medical insurance processes, billing practices, and reimbursement fundamentals.
- Experience collecting patient payments, including copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, with professionalism and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includingabilityto effectively communicate internally and with patients.
- Excellent computerproficiency(MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilemaintaininga positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
