Chrysalis Psychiatry is a growing outpatient mental health practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a variety of mental health services including medication management, psychotherapy, and interventional treatments for PTSD, depression, and other mental illnesses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, andmaintainingrecords and accounts.
  • Welcomespatients and visitors in person or on the telephone.
  • Optimizespatients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment roomutilizationby scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keepspatient appointments on schedule by notifying provider ofpatient'sarrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Comforts patients byanticipatingpatients' anxieties, answering patients' questions, andmaintainingthe reception area.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information,recordingand collecting patientcharges, andfiling, collecting, andexpeditingthird-party claims.
  • Helps patientsindistress by responding to emergencies.
  • Protects patients' rights bymaintainingconfidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Perform related duties as assigned bysupervisor.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2years experienceas a Medical Receptionist, supervisory experiencea plus.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system for patient registration, documentation, billing, and scheduling.
  • General understanding of medical insurance processes, billing practices, and reimbursement fundamentals.
  • Experience collecting patient payments, including copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includingabilityto effectively communicate internally and with patients.
  • Excellent computerproficiency(MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilemaintaininga positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
