Pharmacy Rebate Analyst

We're seeking a Rebate Analyst to join our dynamic team at AscellaHealth, where innovation meets patient care and where your expertise will directly contribute to improving health outcomes for patients with complex, chronic conditions and rare diseases. This role offers the opportunity to ensure accurate pharmacy rebate processing and to deliver insights that guide the business's financial forecasting and strategy. This role combines knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, and Excel with business-facing analytics, including rebate forecasting and data analytics, as well as process improvements. The ideal candidate thrives on working with large datasets, has strong attention to detail, and can translate complex analyses into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role based at our AscellaHealth headquarters in Berwyn, PA, but for the right person, we are open to making it a remote role within the United States.
About the role
Critical parts of the job/Key Responsibilities
Rebate Operations & Financial Analysis
  • Administer pharmacy rebates and ensure timely, accurate client payment reporting.
  • Monitor and forecast rebate-related financial performance; recommend strategy adjustments based on trends.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast) and communicate drivers effectively.
  • Extract insights from multiple data sources to identify patterns and opportunities.

Rebate Data Management & Reporting
  • Lead the preparation, validation, and delivery of rebate reporting packages, financial summaries, and client-facing rebate outputs.
  • Execute consistent rebate submission processing, payment files reconciliations, and downstream reporting.
  • Perform detailed data validation, reconciliation, and audit checks across rebate, claims, and financial datasets.
  • Maintain clear documentation for rebate data structures, reporting logic, calculation methodologies, and audit trails.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Communicate complex findings clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Support contract implementation with Clients, Aggregators, and Pharma partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Skills, Education & Abilities
Essential Requirements
  • Strong understanding of rebate data, rebate calculations, and financial reporting workflows.
  • Strong ability to perform reconciliations, audit checks, and validation across multiple rebate and claims data sources.
  • Ability to interpret complex rebate and financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced experience with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
  • Experience with SQL and Excel (Microsoft SQL Server preferred).
  • Experience supporting BI and reporting tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree, or 4-year equivalent, is required. Preferred fields include Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Accounting, or other disciplines with strong reporting or analytical components.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in pharmacy/medical rebates, PBM operations, healthcare financial reporting, or rebate administration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing rebate submissions, payment validation, financial reconciliations, and client-facing reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx or similar workflow automation tools. Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with US Healthcare, PBM, health insurance, medical claims, or pharmaceutical industries, preferred.
