Key Responsibilities

Schedule & Priority Alignment

  • Maintain a real-time understanding of the production schedule, job priorities, and customer urgency
  • Align expediting activities with value stream priorities vs. reactive requests
  • Proactively identify jobs at risk of delay due to material shortages and take corrective action
  • Participate in daily/weekly scheduling or production review meetings

Material Availability & Expediting

  • Analyze material shortages across WIP jobs and open orders and take action to expedite required components
  • Expedite vendor-supplied parts, repairs, and services to meet required in-house dates
  • Monitor and drive resolution of late purchase orders and supplier delays
  • Maintain visibility of critical path parts impacting job completion

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the primary communication bridge between operations, procurement, and sales for material status
  • Provide clear, fact-based updates on job status, including risks and recovery actions
  • Support sales with accurate delivery commitments based on material reality
  • Partner with buyers to ensure accurate PO promise dates and follow-ups

Warehouse & Receiving Prioritization

  • Coordinate with warehouse to ensure priority receiving, inspection, and stocking of critical parts
  • Drive prioritization of inbound material to match job schedule needs
  • Ensure parts are quickly matched to jobs and available to technicians without delay

Reporting & Visibility

  • Maintain and update open order and shortage reports with clear, actionable status
  • Highlight at-risk jobs, aged shortages, and systemic delays
  • Provide daily/weekly summaries of:
    • Critical shortages
    • Aging Purchase Orders
    • Jobs at risk of missing schedule

Inventory & Data Integrity Support

  • Support setup and activation of new part numbers
  • Assist with inventory accuracy and non-conformance resolution
  • Help improve part master data and material planning accuracy

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring material flow issues (supplier performance, planning gaps, BOM accuracy)
  • Recommend and support improvements to:
  • Expediting process
  • Supplier performance
  • Material planning and scheduling integration
  • Contribute to reducing:
    • Cycle time delays
    • Material-driven rework or waiting
    • Expedite firefighting

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Experience in industrial services, valve repair, or manufacturing preferred
    • Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office, and reporting tools
    • 3+ years experience in either:
      • Material management
      • Purchasing / expediting
      • Inventory control
