What will you be doing!
- Ensuring reliable sources of supply, stable partners for CNL, suitability of products, and satisfied end users.
- Confirming value for money is received by CNL; being compliant with procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Performing quality assurance of the information on the requisition, ensuring that the correct product is received and purchases can be made without delay.
- Consolidating purchases as appropriate to ensure optimal costs and reliable supply of goods.
- Inputting purchase order details to ensure correct information is available for tracking of items and payment to the supplier.
- Deciding when a requisition contains sufficient information to be processed.
- Deciding when to re-qualify vendors following standard procurement practices, including verifying pricing, quality, and overall suitability.
- Determining which vendor will supply goods and/or services within the limits of assigned commodities.
- Being the single point of contact for any queries or questions regarding items, including but not limited to reviewing requisitions, processing purchase orders, expediting delivery of items, payment to the supplier, and handling warranty or repair issues to ensure continuity in the process for the client and supplier.
- Exchanging/ recording/ reporting information/ data to clarify/ interpret client issues.
- Escalating complex/ more diverse issues outside of own area.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- College diploma in business administration.
- Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to modify existing procedures, send and receive emails.
- Knowledge of databases to input and query information and create reports for management.
- Ability to establish priorities in meeting conflicting requirement deadlines.
- Communication skills to negotiate terms with suppliers and to find and propose the best way for a supplier to meet the end-users' requirements.
- Knowledge of technical aspects of requisitions to expedite the ordering process.
- Knowledge of ethical purchasing and business practices to maintain, promote and enforce internal regulations and legislation.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. Working Conditions:
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
This position is part of the USW4096 Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the USW4096 Collective Agreement.
