Job description

Job Title: Housekeeping - Public Area Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Director of Housekeeping

As a Public Area Supervisor, you’ll lead the team that keeps Camelback sparkling! From the lobby and restaurants to outdoor walkways and parking lots, you’ll oversee daily operations to ensure every guest experiences a clean, welcoming, and picture-perfect environment across the entire resort—inside and out. This role is both hands-on and leadership-driven, supporting team performance, quality standards, and overall guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Smile and create a welcoming, guest-focused environment for guests and team members.
  • Supervise daily Resort Appearance operations across hotel and exterior spaces.
  • Assign and prioritize cleaning tasks for team members based on business needs and resort standards.
  • Lead, support, and work alongside team members in cleaning indoor and outdoor public areas.
  • Ensure all areas—including lobbies, restaurants, restrooms, walkways, parking lots, and entrances are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Oversee and support power washing and exterior cleaning to maintain overall resort presentation.
  • Conduct routine inspections of public areas and exterior spaces to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor team productivity and provide real-time coaching, feedback, and support.
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment, supplies, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and communicate needs as appropriate.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to guest requests, concerns, and service opportunities.
  • Handle guest concerns and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure passkeys, master keys, and communication devices are properly distributed, tracked, and secured.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and lost & found items promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments.
  • Support scheduling needs, break coverage, and shift flow as needed.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Support emergency response procedures and ensure team readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, resort appearance, or facilities preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive work ethic.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fun, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Must be able to speak and read English; additional languages a plus.
