Job description

Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. It is the premiere health care organization for key areas such as Surgery, Cardiology, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal and Mental Health Services.

Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position:
Under close supervision, is trained in and performs beginning level professional work for the purpose of acquiring knowledge, skills and competence in the professional field of Clinical Psychology. Performs related work.
Examples of Typical Tasks:
Under close supervision is trained in and performs the following tasks:
1. Administers and scores psychological tests including projective tests of personality.
2. Analyzes and interprets test results.
3. Prepares reports of psychological findings.
4. Participates in psychological and general staff conferences.
5. Participates in the various treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients as a member of the professional therapeutic team and reports and interprets results of contacts with patients.
6. Maintains suitable records and files of test performances and therapy progress.
7. Gathers, arranges, summarizes and quantitatively treats collected data.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of one year of graduate work (thirty credits) in Psychology in an accredited graduate school.
