As a Regional Field Operations Manager (RFOM) at Shook Construction, you’ll lead the charge in building safe, high-performing, highquality projects across your region. RFOMs guide and support field leadership and skilled trade professionals, elevating quality, performance, safety, efficiency, and schedule management. RFOMs support preconstruction and business development through project execution strategy and proposal-development support. You’ll also play a key part in developing our people by recruiting, mentoring, and growing the next generation of field leaders.

What You’ll Do

Operational Excellence

  • Track and report project performance to ensure profitability at every stage.
  • Drive ongoing scheduling meetings and encourage teams to hit milestones and finish strong.
  • Demonstrate expertise in collaborative project delivery best practices.
  • Oversee preplanning and ensure overall project performance rises to the highest standard.
  • Maintain a strong presence across all regional jobsites to support teams and ensure project execution.
  • Champion proactive safety and risk management, address audit findings quickly, and support crisis management when needed.
  • Set the standard for Quality Assurance and Quality Control by supporting prework meetings, First Work Inspections, and continuous quality control audits.
  • Partner with the Shook Equipment Center to monitor equipment utilization.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Partner with the Regional Managers, Directors of Operations, and Project Executives to align field leadership plans.
  • Assign areas of responsibility to direct reports.
  • Drive a people strategy focused on utilization, staffing needs, and new work opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers, Directors of Operations, and Project Executives on field project management hiring and staffing needs.
  • Mentor and develop emerging leaders through structured reviews and ongoing coaching, setting clear goals and tracking progress.
  • Work with the Regional Managers, Directors of Operations, and Project Executives to manage, train, and coach field teams while identifying development opportunities.
  • Manage the placement of Senior Foremen, Foremen, and key field personnel to strengthen regional performance.
  • Lead performance reviews to support the growth and accountability of direct reports.

Client Relationships and Business Growth

  • Partner with the Regional Managers, Directors of Operations, and Project Executives to strengthen key business relationships and actively support securing new project opportunities.
  • Help measure client satisfaction, review client feedback, and work with operations teams to implement improvements.
  • Advance our commitment to economic inclusion and diversity across team members, trade partners, owners, and the communities we serve.
  • Participate in estimate reviews and bid day meetings to ensure we’re executing the strongest strategies to win work.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to drive pursuit planning, proposal execution, and other related sales activities.

Physical and Work Expectations

  • Driving to job sites, offices, client locations, and other work-related sites.
  • Medium amount of physical exertion and stamina required.
  • Overtime work as assigned.
  • Travel overnight as required.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be cold, hot, dusty, or loud.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety.

  • Clear, reliable communication skills, offering consistent updates on milestones, challenges, and wins to the Regional Manager, Director of Operations, and Project Executive leadership.
  • Problemsolving abilities, using sound judgment and practical solutions to calmly navigate jobsite challenges under pressure.
  • Strong technical expertise, including working knowledge of site/civil work, concrete/formwork, architectural trades, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and process equipment.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Autodesk Build; Oracle Primavera P6; and Viewpoint.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Motor vehicle report required.
