Job description

The Microsoft Projects Scheduler is responsible for planning and managing the production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize company's production capacity. This position will work closely with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams to adequately support all planning activities in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

  1. Creates and reviews master production schedule and generates work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
  2. Revises schedule according to work order specifications, establishes priorities based on availability of workers, parts, materials, machines, equipment and external resources.
  3. Analyzes backlog to determine material shortages and capacity requirements.
  4. Attend daily production meetings and communicates any special request for orders or parts that have changed.
  5. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions related to production scheduling.
  6. Coordinates manufacturing activities with manufacturing & quality assurance to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  7. Establishes work order start dates and communicates adjustments to Operations, Engineering and Purchasing.
  8. Constant communication with schedule changes to production and with purchasing on material supply management to review any material restrictions.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 3-5 years experience as a production scheduler
  2. Excellent MS Project, MS Office experience is a must
  3. Working knowledge of a planning system, ERP or MRP system
  4. Strong attention to detail and solid written/verbal communication skills

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. APICS certification a plus
  2. BA/AA degree or advanced planning system knowledge
