Job description

Summary:

A reputable mechanical contractor is seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Project Engineer to support and execute automation projects in the Granite Bay area. This role will work closely with Project Managers, programmers, and field teams to support estimating, engineering coordination, documentation, scheduling, and project delivery. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with building automation systems, HVAC controls, and Tridium Niagara platforms, and is looking to grow within a technically driven BAS team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day execution of BAS projects including estimating support, engineering coordination, and field documentation

  • Assist with project schedules, manpower tracking, and cost control to support on-time and on-budget delivery

  • Coordinate with internal teams, MEP partners, commissioning agents, and clients

  • Review and process RFIs, submittals, drawings, and project documentation

  • Assist with programming coordination and ensure standards are followed across projects

  • Track project progress and report status updates to Project Managers

  • Support project closeout activities including documentation, testing, and turnover

  • Ensure compliance with Title 24, ASHRAE Guideline 36, NEC, and local codes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • 2โ€“5+ years of experience supporting BAS or HVAC controls projects

  • Familiarity with Tridium Niagara 4 or similar building automation platforms

  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, scheduling, and cost tracking

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
