Job description

Summary:

Our client is an established commercial plumbing and mechanical contractor specializing in tenant improvement and renovation projects. They are seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support ongoing HVAC and plumbing construction projects from design through completion. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and eager to advance into project management while maintaining a strong technical foundation in mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and field teams to support HVAC and plumbing projects from design through completion

  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and budget tracking

  • Review and assemble project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders

  • Support mechanical system design with load calculations, equipment selections, and layout coordination

  • Coordinate with clients, architects, and consultants to address project requirements and resolve technical challenges

  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and field coordination to ensure installation quality and compliance with design documents

  • Maintain project records and provide timely updates and reports to management

  • Ensure adherence to applicable building codes, energy standards, and company policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
