Job description

SR. PROJECT ENGINEER
The Sr. Project Engineer has the responsibility of assisting the Project Manager or Estimator.
The Sr. Project Engineer reports to a supervising Project Manager. This position is Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Core Responsibilities
• Preparing complete, accurate and timely submittal logs.
• Accountable for receiving approved submittals from A&E.
• Manage RFI's logs and distribute responses.
• Assist project team in managing punch list.
• Assist Project Manager by preparing all necessary back up relating to change requests.
• Responsible for timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract.
• Distribute contract documents to subcontractors.
• Schedule all required construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, architects and owners.
• Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute.
• Attend Owner/Architect pre-bid, project and closeout meetings.
• Solicit subcontractors and suppliers for proposals.
• Prepare correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.
• Proactively manage project to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety.
• Maintain customer relations and conduct project meetings.
• Perform quantity take off's.

Physical Demands: Performance of the duties will occasionally require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
