TheProject Development Engineerwill support the Turnkey acquisition process during concept development through turnover to Service Operation for the business solution for the customer. This role will also work with the Daikin Applied sales team to develop the customer relationships from initial project scope through project kick-off. The Service Special Projects Developer will also develop the scope of work, qualify, and obtain proposals from contractors and consultants, manage energy analysis and preliminary designs, and work with sales and fulfillment teams to ensure customer's timeframe, budget, and all other expectations are met. This position will also create and maintain relationships with subcontractors and consultants to ensure proper scope is developed and delivered.Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive ourevery endeavor!

Location:Hybrid - Maple Grove, MN

What you will do:

  • Develop all aspects of the scope, project development schedule, and costs for the customer proposal.

  • Work with sales team, customers, and project manager to help scope, estimate, and sell the project.

  • Create, analyze, and negotiate sub-contractor proposals to ensure all customer contract proposal aspects will be met.

  • Consult project management staff to outline work plans and delegate duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

  • Review and analyze status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and/or milestones during project development.

  • Create cost estimates for HVAC piping and sheet metal improvements. Create project scheduling using MS Project, MS Excel, or other tools needed to ensure project development milestones and deadlines are met.

  • Work with the sales and fulfillment teams to plan and conduct client, project, and internal meetings to ensure clear communication.

  • Analyze and select system types and create conceptual designs for HVAC systems.

  • Balance and manage multiple projects in development with multiple sub-contractors and complete project development within initial scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Develop and maintain subcontracting partner relationships. Follow and implement all safety and policy compliances to ensure a safe and satisfying work environment.

  • Create and maintain the accuracy of the forecasted cost, time, and customer satisfaction at completion of project development phase.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.

  • Examine and review contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans. Transition to Service Operations when sale has been finalized.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical contracting

  • Proven sales leadership and demonstrated ability to establish effective strategies

Preferred Qualification:

The typical salary for this position ranges from $90,000 - $153,300 (+10% bonus) in Minnesota.
