In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a Security Officer, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative assistance to the Director of Security and the Security Department to maintain appropriate records and assure operational efficiency of the team.

What you bring to the table
  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Update Security Operational Policies and Procedure Manual as directed.
  • Assists in budget development and tracking.
  • Deals directly with senior management in preparing written and verbal communications as assigned.
  • Answer Security Office telephone and take messages for Security team as needed.
  • Coordinate, prepare and deliver orientation for new hires.
  • Proofread departmental reports and maintain security report database; copy and distribute security reports as required.
  • Track all guest restrictions and assist in communicating with other departments in regard to pertinent guest activity.
  • Maintain inventory supply list of all equipment such as uniforms and tools; order office supplies and necessary tools via purchasing for the department.
  • Track all training records for security team members.
  • Represent the Security team professionally and positively on the telephone and in person.
  • Attend departmental meetings; take notes and follow up on action items as required.
  • Assist in the training and development of Tribal Member employees following Ko-Kwel's Tribal Member Preference policies.
  • Maintains, orders, and keeps records of all radios used by the Casino.
  • Maintains and schedules pick-ups for the Bio-Hazard box for the Casino.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)
Must-haves, nice-to-haves, and maybe some bonus points
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college level business courses and/or an equivalent amount of formal training helpful.
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative office experience reporting to executive management required; prefer experience in the casino industry or a related hospitality administrative position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and accurate typing ability; ability to proofread reports.
  • Ability to provide one on one training and make presentations in various size groups.
  • Above average computer skills to include MS Office and database experience required.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and ask part of a member of a team with positive outcomes.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support other locations.
