Position Summaryย 

The Associate Business Analyst works under guided supervision to support the implementation and enhancement of software products for new and existing clients. ย Supports the project team to ensure that technology solutions completely and accurately resolve the needs and objectives of the business. ย Assists in identifying and documenting business requirements and verifying quality assurance of the delivered product. Performs testing to ensure that products meet design specifications.ย 

Responsibilitiesย 

ย  ย Developing product knowledge and gaining insight into the insurance industry.
ย  ย Learning and following internal processes, standards, and best practices.
ย  ย Building foundational skills in business modeling, requirements analysis, and iterative software development methodologies.
ย  ย Participates in collaborative sessions with clients to understand business goals and gather requirements.
ย  ย With mentorship, helps create key project deliverables like requirement documents, test plans, and user guides.
ย  ย Supports functional and user acceptance testing efforts as needed.
ย  ย Assists in investigating and analyzing client-reported issues and defects.
ย  ย Joins internal design and review meetings to learn about technical system implementations.
ย  ย Helps the project management team by identifying and communicating potential risks or improvement areas.
ย  ย Supports the project management team in proactively identifying and communicating issues in scope or opportunities for work.

Job Requirements

ย  ย  Experience working with life, or annuity insurance products in a professional or academic setting.ย 
ย  ย Assisted in gathering business requirements and helped document functional specifications.ย 
ย  ย Supported the creation of test plans, test cases, and Acceptance Criteria for system testing.
ย  ย Basic experience working with XML files; exposure to ACORD Standards is a plus.
ย  ย Experience working within a born-in-the-cloud environment, with demonstrated familiarity in cloud-native platforms, SaaS-based Life and Annuity solutions, and modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) as applied to insurance product delivery, policy.
ย  ย Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
ย  ย Ability to work independently within a team environment.
ย  ย Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
ย  ย Must be systems-oriented, enjoy learning new products and tools, and be a self-motivated learner.
ย  ย Willingness to follow verbal or written instructions.
ย  ย Learn basic technical skills for implementing product configuration, testing or problem analysis.
ย  ย Exhibit good judgment when solving problems in assessing which decisions are within personal scope and which must be referred to supervisor or manager.
ย  ย Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Visio, Word, Excel, etc.
ย  ย Employee must perform all the essential functions/responsibilities for classification in this position.ย 

Years of Experience

ย  ย 1 to 2 years' experience working with Life Insurance Systems or with Insurance Carrier - Must.
ย  ย Associate degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology (or related field of study) or equivalent life insurance industry work experience.
ย  ย LOMA or any other equivalent industry certification is a Plus.
