Location: US - Remote

Sapiens is on the lookout for an Associate Business Analyst to become a key player in our North America team. If you meet the requirements and are ready to take your career to new heights with an established, globally successful company, this role could be the perfect fit.

Position Summary 

The Associate Business Analyst works under guided supervision to support the implementation and enhancement of software products for new and existing clients.  Supports the project team to ensure that technology solutions completely and accurately resolve the needs and objectives of the business.  Assists in identifying and documenting business requirements and verifying quality assurance of the delivered product. Performs testing to ensure that products meet design specifications. 

Responsibilities 

   Developing product knowledge and gaining insight into the insurance industry.
   Learning and following internal processes, standards, and best practices.
   Building foundational skills in business modeling, requirements analysis, and iterative software development methodologies.
   Participates in collaborative sessions with clients to understand business goals and gather requirements.
   With mentorship, helps create key project deliverables like requirement documents, test plans, and user guides.
   Supports functional and user acceptance testing efforts as needed.
   Assists in investigating and analyzing client-reported issues and defects.
   Joins internal design and review meetings to learn about technical system implementations.
   Helps the project management team by identifying and communicating potential risks or improvement areas.
   Supports the project management team in proactively identifying and communicating issues in scope or opportunities for work.

Job Requirements

   Some experience working with life, health, or annuity insurance products in a professional or academic setting. 
   Assisted in gathering business requirements and helped document functional specifications. 
   Supported the creation of test plans, test cases, and Acceptance Criteria for system testing.
   Basic experience working with XML files; exposure to ACORD Standards is a plus.
   Experience working within a born-in-the-cloud environment, with demonstrated familiarity in cloud-native platforms, SaaS-based Life and Annuity solutions, and modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) as applied to insurance product delivery, policy.
   Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
   Ability to work independently within a team environment.
   Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
   Must be systems-oriented, enjoy learning new products and tools, and be a self-motivated learner.
   Willingness to follow verbal or written instructions.
   Learn basic technical skills for implementing product configuration, testing or problem analysis.
   Exhibit good judgment when solving problems in assessing which decisions are within personal scope and which must be referred to supervisor or manager.
   Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Visio, Word, Excel, etc.
   Travel:  Up to 20% based on Client needs.
   Employee must perform all the essential functions/responsibilities for classification in this position. 

Years of Experience

   1 to 2 years' experience working with Life Insurance Systems or with Insurance Carrier - Must.
   Associate degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology (or related field of study) or equivalent life insurance industry work experience.
   LOMA or any other equivalent industry certification is a Plus.
