Salary Range: $69,000 - $74,000

As the Assistant Project Accountant, you will assist with the financial administration of construction projects by supporting both the Project Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team. Your role will involve collaborating closely with Project Teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, cost tracking, and reporting. You will provide key support in areas such as Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Costing, Owner Billings, and Monthly Cost Reporting, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of our projects. 

You will play a vital role in maintaining up-to-date project financial records, facilitating vendor and client communications, and ensuring that all accounting activities align with company policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow their career in construction accounting. 

Responsibilities / Essential Functions 
  • Process accounts payable (AP) invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Set up and maintain project budgets in the accounting system. 
  • Prepare and submit owner billing packages in accordance with contract terms. 
  • Process intercompany invoices and payments; perform regular reconciliations. 
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and financial closings. 
  • Ensure project accounting complies with internal policies and accounting standards. 
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors and clients to resolve discrepancies. 
  • Organize and manage project-related financial documentation and records. 
  • Support contract reconciliation and ensure accurate cost tracking.
