Job description

Role Overview
As a Scheduler, you'll play a key role in shaping how our projects come together by developing, maintaining, and analyzing the schedules that drive successful planning and execution across our commercial jobs. You'll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to keep schedules accurate, anticipate risks, and help guide proactive solutions. Your experience with Primavera P6 and handson use of Procore will be essential as you collaborate with the team to keep projects moving forward smoothly and strategically.
 
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Schedule Development
  • Develop detailed baseline schedules for new pursuits and active projects using Primavera P6.
  • Support preconstruction teams with schedule input, phasing, and milestone planning.
  • Facilitate pullplanning or collaborative scheduling sessions with project teams.
Schedule Management & Updates
  • Maintain and update schedules throughout the project life cycle.
  • Analyze progress, delays, and impacts; prepare lookahead schedules and recovery strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with project managers and superintendents to validate field progress and sequencing.
Communication & Reporting
  • Clearly communicate schedule impacts, risks, and opportunities to internal teams and external partners.
  • Provide weekly and monthly schedule reports aligned with Choate's standards.
  • Assist with client presentations, schedule narratives, and forecasting documentation.
Risk Identification & Mitigation
  • Identify potential schedule risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Model "whatif" scenarios to support decisionmaking.
  • Ensure alignment between trade partners, procurement timelines, and critical path activities.
Systems & Process Management
  • Use Procore for schedule integration, updates, and stakeholder visibility.
  • Maintain expertise in Primavera P6 to ensure consistency in scheduling methodologies.
  • Support continuous improvement of Choate's scheduling standards and processes.
Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of scheduling experience in commercial construction.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required).
  • Experience in Veyor preferred
  • Working knowledge of Procore, including schedule management tools (required).
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and logistics.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and delay analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Detailoriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying issues and solutions.
