Job description

Youth Program Coordinator (Life Program Coordinator) SOLO with Support 
CHIMO: Where What You Do Matters for A Lifetime.  
The Solo with Supports (SWS) Program provides individualized, trauma-informed services that support youth as they build independence, life skills, and meaningful connections within their communities. The LIFE (Learning, Identity, Friendship, and Empowerment) Program enhances these services by providing individual and group programming that promotes personal growth, healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing, community engagement, and successful transitions into adulthood. 
We are seeking a passionate and creative Life Program Coordinator to develop and facilitate engaging life skills programming for youth. This role combines program development, youth engagement, case collaboration, group facilitation, recreation programming, and community outreach to support young people in building independence and successful transitions into adulthood.
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate engaging LIFE Program activities and group sessions that support youth development and independence.
  • Plan programming focused on life skills, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, education, employment readiness, recreation, culture, and community engagement.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with youth to encourage participation, growth, and positive outcomes.
  • Develop monthly program schedules and coordinate community activities, events, and outings.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, community agencies, schools, and internal teams to enhance programming and participant supports.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through participant feedback and continuously improve programming.
  • Create promotional materials and communicate program opportunities with participants and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, session notes, attendance records, and reports in accordance with agency standards.
  • Foster safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning environments.
  • Support youth with complex needs using strength-based, relationship-focused, and evidence-informed practices.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Disability Studies, Psychology, or a related human services field.
  • Minimum two (2) year of experience working with children, youth, or families.
  • Experience facilitating individual or group programming is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and the ability to meet agency driving requirements.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Record Check.
