Overview
NJM is hiring an Insurance Product Management Analyst, Intern (the official NJM Title is Business Insights Analyst, Intern) in the Product Management department. This role will work with various levels of management to support the development of a data- driven culture by empowering users through the use of data and analytics to drive business decisions by continuously monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics to ensure targets and goals are being met.
The candidate will participate in a range of analytical and data analysis activities which will enhance departmental understanding of profit, growth, retention, and operational results of assigned states, leading to sustained long term profitable growth and maintaining the highest levels of service to our customers.
Responsibilities
  • Review and report on market share and activities of competitors within assigned states.
  • Provide insights and trends in the marketplace.
  • Generate regular reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Leads strategic projects in support of state management and assists in preparing presentations for business leaders.
  • Develop competitive models and analysis utilizing data and analytical skills resulting in dashboard and ad hoc reports.
  • Compiles, cleans, organizes, and analyzes complex data to understand and communicate business results.
  • Conduct presentations as required.
  • Review financial results with business leaders, providing insights into results relative to expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Current Sophomores and Juniors who will be rising Juniors or Seniors for the summer of 2027
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT, or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Familiarity in data science tools and available systems (SQL, SAS, PowerBi or similar, Office suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to drive strategic direction and take initiative
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be commutable to our West Trenton, New Jersey office
