About The Role

WEG Electric Corp, a global electric equipment company is seeking an Sr. Product Engineer for Low Voltage (LV) Motors. You will support technical issues, product line management, and product development of the LV Motors business unit. This position is also involved with Certification and Industry Trade groups.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop proposals for new product lines through market research, Sales interactions and Customer visits
  • Supports new product development through product launch with Engineering, Certification, Sales, Service, logistics and others.
  • Confers with engineers, managers, customer, and others, to discuss the project, prepare documents, or modify schedules.
  • Supports marketing and communication efforts of specific product lines, such as industry briefs or product manuals/brochures.
  • Develop industry experience (periodicals, internet research, professional memberships, conference participation, site visits, etc.).
  • Develops Product specific support tools, training and literature
  • Assist LV Motors team members technically or commercially as needed.
  • Participates in conference calls and/or customer visits with limited outside sales assistance.
  • Gets feedback direct from customers with limited help from the outside sales team.
  • Provides technical and commercial training and mentoring to more junior team members, field sales and customers as appropriate.
  • Participate with industry groups to further WEG’s position as an influential motor industry leader.
  • Moderate travel required to visit customers, Trade Shows, and manufacturing facilities.

Knowledge / Training

  • Understands and is competent on large motors, large motor and drive applications/solutions and is knowledgeable about large motor / drive customers and associated markets / industries
  • Proven capabilities in the Electric Machines industry in roles related to Sales
  • Technical experience and Knowledge of Electrical machines and their applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as Outlook

Experience

  • 2+ years’ work experience in motor related industry; or equivalent in related experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from a four-year college or university or university program certificate and
