Overview:

This role supports the Purchasing and Procurement teams through reporting, data analysis, supplier communication, and purchase order creation. It includes evaluating and qualifying suppliers, managing non-conforming components, preparing RFQs, and maintaining supplier performance scorecards. The position also assists with short-term projects, supply chain risk management, and cross-functional issue resolution while helping test SAP purchasing/MRP functions and developing tracking tools for environmental and operational metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare purchasing reports (project status, supplier performance, management updates).
  • Assist the Purchasing Department with developing spreadsheets, data evaluation, data reporting, contacting suppliers, handling, and arranging non-conforming components
  • Special Assignments such as Supply Chain Risk Management
  • Follow up on calls for proposals
  • Create new PO's to support manufacturing and project management.
  • Qualify new suppliers for future business based on quality audits of the supplier's manufacturing facility
  • Publishing monthly scorecards tracking each supplier's performance against key quality metrics
  • Manage short-term project(s) and structure a presentation for the Management team
  • Assist the Procurement Manager and Buyers in their day-to-day activities. Prepare Request for Quote (RFQ's), order acknowledgements, and delivery status updates.
  • Participating in supplier and internal team meetings
  • Resolving order issues with finance, engineering, logistics, and manufacturing
  • Perform spend analysis to identify cost improvement opportunities
  • Assist the SAP team in testing different purchasing and MRP functions.
  • Develop a tracking system for environmental indices.

Candidate Requirements:

Pursuing Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or engineering related curriculum.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. Skills in Excel or Power BI a plus.

Must be able to work independently and be a strong team player.

Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive disposition.

Minimum 12 hours a week
