Essential Function:

Position is responsible for developing, optimizing, and controlling critical chemical etch and cleaning processes of Silicon and other brittle materials to meet semiconductor grade cleanliness for dielectric etch and deposition applications. The primary focus is on managing and controlling the process to meet customer requirements with a strong emphasis of safety and quality. The position is the subject matter expert for Silicon cleaning for Semiconductor components in the company; and leads and establish required etch clean processes to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the process capability of the chemical processes, optimization of equipment/process, documentation, etc. for wet chemistries.
  • Responsible to develop and implement wet chemistry processes in manufacturing.
  • Evaluate new tool capabilities and modify existing tool for new product processing to meet customer requirements.
  • Define process conditions to achieve safety standards, quality, cost, and capacity for the chemical etch and clean processes.
  • Establish critical to quality process parameters and work with manufacturing to define process controls ensuring processes operate at optimum performance level.
  • Partner with Research and Development Team to receive new etch technologies, implement the new technologies to ensure stable production release.
  • Evaluation of current processes to establish capability and implement improvements to enhance processes and products.
  • Responsible for developing and establish process capability and process control, repeatability, and stability through SPC, engineering controls, and other effective process management methods.
  • Responsible for project planning, creating budgets, and Return on Investment to ensure you meet Annual Operating Plans. Commits to deliverables and is accountable for executing projects on-time and within budget.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to support business requirements based on process needs.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures.
  • Application of Lean manufacturing tools: RCA, PDCA, OEE, Bottleneck Analysis, Process Mapping.
  • Carries out special projects and all other additional duties per business needs in shared resource area.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily through knowledge, skill, and/or ability.

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of wet chemistries focused on Silicon cleaning with interaction of chemistries and impact of product parameters
  • Knowledge of Si - surface cleaning
  • Proficient in reading part drawings and in interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Experience in Lean technologies in a manufacturing environment including advanced problem solving/6-sigma skills
  • Demonstrated skills in process control and process optimization
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision
  • Competent with MSOffice Suite products and advance skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Statistical analysis software experience (preferably JMP)
  • Experience with Quality Systems, Conformance, and Compliance standards
  • Knowledge of Special Process Controls and or Copy Exact and other Semi Standards

  • Ability to learn process equipment including Operator/Maintenance interface with PLCs and machine controls
